LinkStar™ is the highest performance, star-based VSAT system for service providers, ISPs, and corporate network managers who are seeking a system based on DVB standards. LinkStar's edge is in its dynamic bandwidth allocation that makes it more efficient and faster than other TDMA systems. Skyplex - Ka-band System for Broadband Multimedia by Eutelsat
Eutelsat and our Comsat Laboratories division have developed a new Ka-band version of LinkStar for a broadband system called Skyplex, aimed at the market for high-speed multimedia communications. This terminal was custom-designed for Eutelsat's new Skyplex satellite, the first in the world to feature on-board multiplexing of digital television, radio, and data.

The system is able to collect uplink signals from many sources, in many locations, package them on-board the satellite and deliver them to digital receivers on the ground. Higher frequency Ka-band satellites promise smaller, lower-cost terminals and reduce satellite air-time costs, while customers avoid long video backhauls to a central location and smaller or regional content providers find it easier to contribute programming.

SkyPlex is a custom Ka-band version of the LinkStar terminal for Eutelsat's SkyPlex service, the world’s first multimedia satellite network to feature on-board satellite multiplexing of digital television, radio, and data. SkyPlex avoids long backhauls to a central location and enables easy contribution from smaller or regional content providers.
