1594-01 Audio/Data Encoder

  
The 1594-01 takes a serial data stream which provides real time indication of zone addresses to which the audio is intended to go, modulates this on an AFSK data carrier and combines this data carrier with the audio. An internal processor provides a test signal which can be used to select any one or all zones for set up and test purposes. This unit works in conjunction with an external automated paging computer to provide an intercom paging system over a cable system. Spectrum efficient, this system requires only one analog, narrowband channel on the CATV system. The output is a composite audio signal which can be inserted to an FM CATV modulator such as a Norsat FM60. A wall power supply provides DC power to the 1594-01. The unit is housed in an aluminum extrusion chassis and mounted on an 1 3/4”, rack panel.
